Survivor Outreach Services (SOS) is an Army-wide program designed to provide dedicated and comprehensive support to survivors of deceased Soldiers.
Cape Fox Federal Integrators are currently seeking to fill the position of Support Coordinator with qualifed personnel.
Job Decription
Provide information to increase community knowledge of SOS services and information to leadership on issues impacting Survivors upon request. The Contractor shall develop informal partnerships with military, civilian and non-governmental agencies to leverage support to maximize available resources to meet Survivor needs on an ongoing basis (e.g. local churches, universities, veteran's organizations, social security office, department of human services, behavior health clinics, etc.).

Refer Survivor benefits and entitlement questions/concerns to the Casualty Assistance
Center Benefits Coordinator and at no time will brief a Survivor on the Survivor Benefits Plan (SBP).
Upon receipt of an official transferred Survivor, the Contractor will update DCIPS within 3 days and outreach to the Survivor within 10 business days IAW the SOS Operations Manual. The Contractor will attempt to contact and/ or engage each Survivor through a variety of outreach methods and resources to include, but not limited to; telephone, mailings, electronic mail, Skype, travel, etc.
Work with other component Support Coordinators, HQ IMCOM SOS, and the COR to identify an agreed upon county coverage area in each designed casualty area of support. The Contractor will perform a DCIPS query once a week to identify new survivors.
Contact the Family Programs Director, Casualty Assistance Center Benefits Specialist and Financial Counselor(s) to review cases and trends; coordinate SOS briefings and slides for orientations and workshops as needed or requested.
Ensure all case records; follow up/outreach, training, reports and procedures are in compliance with standards in accordance with appropriate SOS program manuals, DCIPS and AR policies, and regulatory guidance.
Analyze data gathered from surveys, tracking systems, web sites, and Management Information Systems to determine trends or areas requiring further study to assess program effectiveness. The Contractor shall be required to keep abreast of research, policies, and legislative changes impacting Survivors. This will be done through updates posted to the SOS Website and progress will be monitored by the Contractor PM and information will be provided to the COR upon request.
Access DCIPS on a weekly basis to post and review journal entries and search for cases that have had no inquiries with CMOAC within the past two years and coordinate case findings with the HQ IMCOM Region Support Specialist.

Personnel shall possess a minimum of a baccalaureate degree in the behavioral sciences (i.e. social work, psychology, counseling, sociology) from an accredited college.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
