VDI Horizon - System Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with a strong focus on virtualization, storage, and Microsoft technologies to join our team.
As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure server environments utilizing VDI (Horizon), PowerShell, and a range of storage solutions including Cohesity and NetApp.
Your expertise in Microsoft operating systems, server monitoring, connectivity options, and server protection will be critical to the success of our projects.

Responsibilities:
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and Horizon:
Design, implement, and manage VDI solutions utilizing VMware Horizon for efficient virtual desktop provisioning and management.
PowerShell Automation:
Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate tasks and streamline server management processes.
Storage Solutions (Cohesity/NetApp):
Design and manage centralized storage solutions using Cohesity and NetApp to ensure data availability, performance, and integrity.
Microsoft Technologies:
Proficiently work with Microsoft operating systems for servers and other products like Active Directory, Exchange, DHCP/DNS, and TCP/IP.
Clustering and Load Balancing:
Understand and implement clustering and load balancing techniques, differentiating between their functionalities and advantages.
Disk Configuration:
Evaluate and choose appropriate disk configurations (e.
g.
, mirror, RAID 5) based on project requirements, considering both positive and negative aspects.
Connectivity Options:
Utilize various connectivity options (iSCSI, CIFS, NFS, fiber channel) for centralized storage to meet performance and reliability needs.
Server Protection:
Implement security measures to safeguard servers from both internal and external threats, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Change Management:
Apply a structured approach to change management, ensuring seamless updates and modifications to the server environment.
Vendor Collaboration:
Collaborate with vendors to negotiate and finalize server specifications based on project and organizational criteria.
Monitoring and Optimization:
Utilize server monitoring tools to proactively monitor performance, identify issues, and optimize server environments.
Qualifications:
Experience:
3-4 years of engineering experience focused on designing, planning, implementing, and maintaining secure server environments.
Certifications/Licenses:
Certifications/diplomas such as VMWare, Microsoft, and NetApp are desired.
